Jess sees yoga practice as a platform for exploration of how the body moves, breaths and relaxes into stillness. It is a place to explore how the mind can sync up with the efforts of the body and breath, and ultimately lead to a state of peace, bliss, connection and contentment.
Jess guides her yoga classes from a deep understanding of the bio-mechanics of the body. Informed by anatomical understanding and guided by kinesthetic awareness, you can expect a considered sequential sequence that grows in complexity and in challenge.
What is most important to Jess during class is that we respect and care for the body and the soul. Focusing on individual alignment, considered attention for injuries and illnesses, and accessibility for all levels of student by offering modifications in all classes.
Jess teaches raja yoga in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya and is influenced by vinyasa yoga, ashtanga yoga, yin yoga and other movement methods and philosophies including dance, feldenkrais and kinesiology.
